$40K in Criminal Damage Property Case, Smashed Window Lets Flood Water in Basement on N. Verde

Arlington Heights police received a report of criminal damage To property to a residence in the 1700 Block of North Verde Drive. An unknown offender or offenders smashed out a 6″ x 8″ glass block window with a brick. The window was located on the east side of the home in a window well to the basement. The basement flooded due to the broken window and heavy rain that entered the opening. The window damage is estimated at $150 and flood damage is estimated at $40,000.

The crime is reported to have occurred between Thursday, July 21st, 2011 at 11:00am and Saturday, July 23rd, 2011 at 5:00pm.
