Thunder is rumbling west of the northwest suburbs about 4:00 a.m. Wednesday. The Day 1 Convective Outlook shows severe weather risk in southwest Illinois and almost the entire state of Missouri, with the greatest risk in northeast Missouri and Illinois near the Missouri border.
At 4:00 a.m. a very wide area of Thunderstorms are indicated on NEXRAD radar. Storms north of Decatur and and in the Danville area indicate hail is possible. Severe thunderstorm warning are issued for counties in southwest Illinois near Missouri.
As of 4:00 a.m. no Severe Thunderstorm Warning has been issued for the northwest suburbs, but lightning and thunder is approaching.

NOT ATTEMPT TO SWIM DIRECTLY AGAINST A RIP CURRENT. EVEN A STRONG
