Suspect Telephone Fraud/Identity Theft Attempt

Arlington Heights police received a report that a victim received a telephone call from a subject who told her she was entitled to free services. The victim thought the call was from Medicare and was related to some recent surgery. The caller asked for the victim’s Social Security number, which was given. The caller then asked the victim to verify her home address and doctor’s name, which were given. The promised follow-up phone call had been received when police received the report.

There was no answer when the incoming telephone number was called by the victim and police department.
