Kevin Carney, 33, was arrested about 3:15 p.m. Friday for possession of a suspected 195 grams of morphine. After the arrest, police believed Carney was involved in additional drug activity, and obtained a search warrant for his home in the 400 block of South Main Street, Mount Prospect.
Police reported they found a clandestine laboratory in the basement of the home Saturday and seized a commercial pharmaceutical pill press machine covered in an unknown white powder, 122 grams of marijuana, and packaging material.
Kevin Carney, of the 400 block of South Main Street, faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of cannabis as a result of the discovery.
The home was secured due to potential health hazards and police called in assistance from experts in hazardous material collection and disposal.
Carney’s bond was set at $60,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on June 21.
