John Gawlik, 60, of the 1200 block of Leeds Lane, Elk Grove Village was arrested Friday afternoon by Schaumburg police went to his home with a search warrant and found almost 46 grams of cocaine, a digital scale, $6,603 cash, and a loaded .380-caliber pistol.
John Gawlik was charged with manufacturing and delivering cocaine, a felony, and misdemeanor possession of a firearm without a firearm owner’s identification (FOID) card.
Among the dollar bills that were discovered, $40 that had been marked by investigators for an earlier drug purchase, according to Cook County Assistant State’s Attorney Hailey Peck.
Gawlik has prior drug-related arrests. Judge Edward N. Pietrucha set Gawlik’s bond at $75,000. Gawlik is scheduled to appear in court again on June 23.
