Des Plaines police received a report May 25, 2011 of retail theft of aspirin from the Dominick’s in the 1500 block of South Lee Street. Police received a report that a woman was captured on surveillance video placing 15 to 20 bottles of Aleve and Advil into a rolling white and blue cooler at the Dominick’s.
The female subject wheeled the cooler out of the store to an awaiting silver 4-door car. Mount Prospect apprehended Jessica Nicholas, of Second Fifth Avenue in unincorporated Arlington Heights following the report of the incident. No information available about how they made the connection. The address is in the WIlloway Terrace Mobile Home Park near the 2300 block of East Oakton Street (Route 83), just east of the Interstate 90 overpass near borders with Mount Prospect, Elk Grove Village and Des Plaines.
According to police, Nicholas told Des Plaines police that she bought the pain relievers so that she could sell them and buy heroin with the profit from the proceeds. Jessica Nicholson said she sold the aspirin, valued at $210.42, at a store on the west side of Chicago, and then bought eight bags of heroin, which she consumed.
