Buffalo Grove police responded about 9:10 p.m. Sunday to the 700 block of Hapsfield in Buffalo Grove after a male/female couple reported that a male/Hispanic punched the male in the face while the couple was sitting in a car. Police received a report that a female and three male/Hispanics approached a couple in an unknown apartment complex nearby and asked the couple if they had any pot. The couple answered ‘no’ and one of the male/Hispanics punched the male half of the couple in the face. The couple drove to the 700 block of Hapsfield and called police, who responded immediately.
Police called paramedics for the injured man, and setup a northbound perimeter after the K-9 picked up a track heading north near Vernon Lane and Vernon Court. The offender was described as a male/Hispanic in his 20’s, wearing white basketball shorts and a tank top or cutoff white T-shirt. An Arlington Heights police north beat squad car assisted Buffalo Grove police with their perimeter.
The suspect was in custody by 9:40 p.m. Sunday. At some point in capture a TASER was deployed. Paramedics were called about 9:55 p.m. Sunday during prisoner processing at the Buffalo Grove Police Department to remove the TASER and check on the suspect.
