Buffalo Grove police responded about 4:10 a.m. Thursday to a report of a burglary in progress in the 1100 block of Miller Lane. Police received a report that a woman woke up to find a man standing in front of her bed. The woman ran outside and waited for police in front of her apartment/condo unit.
Police responded and immediately setup a perimeter in the neighborhood. Police searched Miller Lane and Thornton Lane, a street lined with single family homes, just south of the apartment/condo complex.
The offender was described as a male/white in his 20’s, about 5’5″ with short black cropped hair. He was wearing a dark top.
Police were canvassing the neighborhood — knocking on doors and checking on neighbors in the area about 4:45 a.m. Thursday.
No word on any contact with the suspect or any arrest as of 5:45 a.m. Thursday.
Recently on Saturday, May 28, 2011 Buffalo Grove police received a report that roommates went to sleep while leaving the patio door open at an apartment unit in the 1100 block of Miller Lane. When one of the roommates woke up, she realized someone entered the apartment and removed two Apple iPads from a computer table. No other items were reported missing. The crime was reported to have occurred between 12:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m.
