Des Plaines police responded about 4:55 a.m. Friday to an attempted armed robbery near the Comfort Inn, 2175 East Touhy in Des Plaines. Police alerted area police departments that a male/white or Hispanic, 6’0″ black ski mask, glasses and dark clothing was armed with a chrome handgun. The suspect attempted and armed robbery and fled northwestbound on foot along Touhy Avenue.
