Arlington Heights police received a report about 6:00 a.m. Sunday of criminal damage to property at 7-ELEVEN, 333 South Arlington Heights Road. Police first received a report that a male broke the door at the 7-ELEVEN. The offender then entered a gray vehicle and fled southbound on Arlington Heights Road.
Police caught up with the suspect near Arlington Heights Road and Central Road and reported they were on a traffic stop at the Sally’s Beauty Supplies parking lot. Police arrested the driver DUI at about 6:10 a.m. Sunday, and also learned that the offender apparently hit the front door of the 7-ELEVEN with his vehicle.
The male driver was transported in custody to Arlington Heights Police Department Headquarters. The driver’s gray Mazda N6 was towed to a police holding area.
