A tornado warning was issued for Ford County and Vermillion County, yesterday after radar indicated a possible tornado, and a report was received of a small tornado touchdown in open land west of Paxton, Illinois. Several weak tornadoes were also reported near Vermillion, Illinois — east of Paxton.
Will, Kendall and Grundy counties, nearest to Chicago, were among 24 counties in north-central Illinois that were alerted to a National Weather Service severe thunderstorm watch at 3 p.m.
