Hoffman Estates police and firefighter/paramedics responded 1:52 p.m. Friday to a hit-and-run personal injury accident of a box truck and a bicyclist. The bicyclist was injured. The offending vehicle is described as a small two-axle box truck with rubber tire or silver paint transfer to the passenger door. The box truck was last seen southbound on Barrington Road from the scene at the intersection of Golf Road (Route 58) and Barrington Road.
At 2:40 p.m. the complaint was announced to be unfounded and the “be on the lookout” for the box truck was cancelled.
