Wheaton police responded about 11:50 p.m. Friday to an armed robbery on Main Street just south of Geneva Road (2000 block of North Main Street). Two offenders were described: a male/Hispanic, medium build, with darker skin wearing a dark blue hoodie on a bicycle; and a male/black 5’6″-5’7″ with a medium build, wearing dark clothing that was walking without a bicycle. The male/Hispanic offender was armed with a knife or screw driver. Both offenders were possibly last seen heading southbound on Main Street. The offenders also approached the victim from the north. As the case developed, the police were not certain of the direction of travel of the offenders after the crime.
Wheaton firefighter/paramedics also responded to the scene to a report of a battery victim at the location near the Jewel-Osco at Main and Geneva.
