Elgin-O’Hare Expressway Crash: Illinois State Police, Roselle Police, and Cook County Sheriff Police responded to a multiple-vehicle crash about 7:20 a.m. Tuesday. The five-car crash on the eastbound Elgin-O’Hare just east of Roselle Road injured four people, who were transported to Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village and St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. The four people suffered non-life-threatening injuries. Rescue extrication was involved in at least one of the vehicles. Also, one vehicle was overturned on its roof.
Fire departments from Roselle, Elk Grove Village, Wood Dale, and possibly others responded to the crash.
Early investigation indicates a westbound vehicle may have crossed into the oncoming eastbound lanes and caused a crash.
Lanes were obstructed past 8:20 a.m. and traffic advisories had instructed eastbound Elgin-O’Hare drivers to exit at Roselle Road if they were west of the exit. Westbound drivers were advised to exit at Route 53, or not enter the westbound Elgin-O’Hare Expressway.
