Dollar Store at 63rd and Ashland.
Chicago police responded to a report Monday night of an armed robbery in progress at a store. The armed robbery was apparently still in progress at a store near 63rd Street and Ashland Avenue when gunfire between police and a suspect killed the suspect and injured a police officer.
The police officer was transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital with graze wound to a knee.
CTA Green Line trains were not making the stop at the Ashland/63rd station due to police activity in the area.
