Burglary Suspect Caught in Progress of Breaking Into Home on Flentie Ln

Arlington Heights police detectives were near a crime in progress scene about 7:45 p.m. Thursday when a male offender cut a screen, opened a window and crawled into a house in the 1700 block of East Flentie Lane. Police set up a perimeter as the residential burglary suspect headed back to his car — a white Pontiac. The suspect, wearing a black hoodie and black sweat pants as he left the victim’s house, took a roundabout path walking back to his vehicle, which was parked on Stratford north of Burr Oak Drive.

The suspect returned to his vehicle, and as soon as his vehicle started to move the vehicle, police squad cars — poised for a traffic stop — surrounded the suspect’s vehicle and arrested the suspect.

The male/adult was arrested and transported in custody to Arlington Heights police headquarters. An evidence technician was called to the scene on East Flentie.
