Jose Albert Quiroz, 27, of the 7700 block of South Kilpatrick was arrested about 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 7 at a hotel in the 7700 block of South Cicero Avenue, near Midway International Airport, Chicago after he was discovered with a missing teen from Schaumburg.
The female teen, who was missing since March 2, 2011 was reported to have voluntarily run away after meeting Quiroz either online or by telephone.
Felicia Chavez, 18, of the 300 block of Raymond Street in Elgin was also charged with one felony count of obstructing justice. Chavez also apparently drove the missing girl and Quiroz to the Schaumburg train station to catch a train to Chicago. Schaumburg police had reported during the search that interviews with people have shown obstruction of the investigation with false or misleading statements about contact with the girl or knowledge about her whereabouts.
Detectives discovered photos of another juvenile on Quiroz’s cell phone, resulting in the child pornography charge.
A Cook County judge set bond of Quiroz at $40,000 (10%) Tuesday morning. Felicia Chavez was granted an individual bond, with no cash requirement.
