Chicago Fire Department responded about 1:30 p.m. Sunday to a fire at 33 North Dearborn Street. Smoke was reported visible from the 17th floor.
An early call reported that people were trapped in stairwells, but stairwells were later report to be clear with no victims.
The fire was raised to a 2-11 about 1:45 p.m. Sunday. The 2-11 was struck out at about 2:20 p.m. and a helicopter responding to the fire was released. Firefighters reported only light smoke at about 2:25 p.m., and that firefighters were double-checking stairwells and floors for victims.
An EMS Plan I was also called to the fire scene. No reports of injuries. EMS Plan I was secured just before 2:40 p.m. Sunday.
