Palatine police responded about 3:35 AM Wednesday to report of a disturbance involving a female and an ex-boyfriend in the 400 block of North Rand Road at the Speedway. Police received a report that an ex-boyfriend slashed the tires of his ex-girlfriend and took her keys. He was reported to have fled in a blue 2002 Chevrolet Cavalier. He was report to be armed with a large kitchen knife or butcher knife. Police were checking the Williams Reserve apartment complex and were searching for the suspect.
The crime is reported to have occurred at Williams Reserve while the female was picking up her child. She apparently fled to safety at the Speedway.
The offender is described as a male/Black about 20 or 21-years-old. Palatine police are aware of the identity of the suspect and are investigating.
No word on whether police contacted or arrested the suspect.
