Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 12:25 a.m. Wednesday to a crash at Arlington Heights Road and Euclid Avenue. No injuries were reported at the crash, but a van was up against a house, and two stoplight standards were taken out during the crash. Also the traffic control box was hit, resulting in a dent in the box with the stoplights still functioning.
A gas meter on the southwest exterior of a house on the the northeast corner of Arlington Heights Road and Euclid Avenue was hit causing a gas pipe to leak natural gas.
At least one of the stoplight standards at the crash was across Euclid Avenue, which was closed with traffic diverted from about 12:30 a.m. until about 2:20 a.m.
No serious structural damage was apparent at first look at the house. The Arlington Heights Building Department was called out to the scene to inspect the house for structural damage.
Also called out to the scene were Nicor for the gas meter pipe leak, Meade Electric for the stoplights, IDOT for the traffic signal control box.
