Schaumburg police and firefighter/paramedics responded just before 2:00 p.m. Sunday to an activated fire alarm and then a report of smoke showing from the back of the building.
The first firefighters on the scene reported smoke showing from the rear of the building on the north side. Firefighters made entry on the south side and found equipment on fire that contains acid and was energized.
A sprinkler system was activated. Firefighters also setup a decontamination hose line.
The acid (pH) level around the building and near a stream behind the building was tested, and no problem was detected.
