FOOTBALL EVENT SET TO HELP RAISE MONEY FOR OFFICER WHO DIED LAST YEAR
David Gonzalez, a Cook County Sheriff’s Officer, was 38 years old and married with a wife and two young children when he was diagnosed with leukemia in 2009.
After a 17 month battle, which included chemotherapy, radiation and a stem cell transplant, Dave, who worked as an External Operations Officer at the Cook County Jail, succumbed to the disease, leaving behind his wife Mary and two children ages 5 and 2.
On February 26th the Chicago Slaughter will be hosting “A Night for Dave” at the Sears Center Arena, 5333 Prarie Stone Parkway in Hoffman Estates, while playing the Omaha Beef. A portion of all tickets sold by Thursday, February 10th, will be donated to help support Mary and her two children.
