The owner of Allen’s Crosley Lanes in Vancouver, Washington released surveillance video that shows burglars driving into the bowling allen, smashing into an ATM, then loading into the back of their minivan.
Vancouver (Washington) police to a burglary after offenders smashed a minivan into a bowling alley and stole an ATM early Monday morning.
Security video shows a minivan plow through the front sliding glass doors of the bowling alley, back up to an ATM on the other side of the lobby, and ram into it to knock it over. Both offender got out of the car, lifted the ATM into the van and speed off. The crime took just over one minute to complete.
The ATM contained about $2,000 inside.
The ATM theft is the third incident in less than one month. Two automated teller machines were swiped from convenience stores in Vancouver and Ridgefield, in December.
A witness an ATM theft in progress just before 3 a.m. Thursday December 13, 2010. The witness reported a pickup truck back up to the front of the Z Mart, 1010 N.W. 219th Street, in Ridgefield.
A second witness reported an ATM theft in progress about 3:50 a.m. at the B&B Country Store, 1804 N.W. 119th St. in Vancouver. both ATMs were found later with the money still inside.
Vancouver has also investigated incidents of ATM skimming at and gas pump skimming in the past 13 months.
