Surveillance video shows an 88-year-old female being dragged across a parking lot by a red vehicle at the Kroger Grocery Store, just south of Arlington High School in Indianapolis.
An 88-year-old Indianapolis woman refused to let go of her purse when it was grabbed by someone in an SUV at the Devington Shopping Center in Indianapolis. She left go after some reckless driving broke her grip on her purse.
Indianapolis police have released surveillance video that shows a red SUV approach an elderly female victim, and then speed through a parking lot –apparently to try to shake her, as she held on and was dragged. The crime occurred in the 6100 block of East 46th Street on January 12, 2011.
The vehicle’s driver drove the vehicle into a 180-degree turn in the frozen slush, and 88-year-old victim let go and fell onto the wet, frozen pavement.
The victim told police that a man and woman inside the SUV had approached her and asked for directions.
While she was giving directions, the man stated he had a gun.
The purse contained $18, a debit card, Medicare card, insurance and a Social Security card, according to the victim.
