Arlington Heights police responded about 8:45 PM Monday to a report of shoplifting/retail theft at Garden Fresh Market, 600 East Rand Road. Police received a report that two female/Hispanics took full bags of meat and other items without paying, and left the store.
The offenders left in a gray or beige Chevrolet Trailblazer, and headed northwest on Rand Road.
Police had a good vehicle description and were able to apprehend one suspect within minutes. The second suspect was apprehended just before 10:00 p.m. after some good police work and assistance from Palatine police officers.
The driver was described as a female/Hispanic about 25 years-old, about 5’2”, with distinct acne on her face, shoulder length, dark-colored hair, wearing blue jeans and a blue sweather.
The second suspect, a passenger was described as about 30-years-old, to 5’6”, with a heavier build, and shoulder length, streaky hair.
Stolen was taco meat, Mexican cuisine items, beef steak, and breaded chicken and vegetables. Arlington Heights police are investigating.
Police transported two adult females in custody to Arlington Heights police headquarters. The driver’s Chevy Trailblazer was towed to a police holding area. Cook County Sheriff’s deputies also assisted Arlington Heights police on the case.
