Arlington Heights police responded just after 3:30 AM Thursday to a report of an armed robbery at the Shell Station, 3 West Algonquin Road. Police received a report that two offenders robbed the Shell gas station. One of the offenders pointed a black handgun into the abdomen of the gas station clerk.
The offenders were described as two male/blacks, age estimated in the 30’s or 40’s. One male was wearing a black coat and one was wearing a brown coat. The subject wearing the brown coat looked like he had an injured eye. The offenders got away with about $200 US cash. The subjects were reported to have fled northbound on foot. But there was also information that led officers to believe they had a vehicle behind the gas station.
A few minutes later two black males were also reported banging on a door at Holiday Inn Express, 2120 South Arlington Heights Road, which is just north of Algonquin Road. The clerk hid behind a locked door. Police checked the area.
Arlington Heights police are investigating. No word on any arrest or police contact with the offenders.
