U.S. consular officials on Thursday said that both Texas university students killed in Ciudad Juarez earlier this week were U.S. citizens, bringing the number of Americans slain in the violent border city to six in as many days.
Two University of Texas El Paso students were shot to death Tuesday night in Ciudad Juarez, Mexican and U.S. authorities confirmed Wednesday.
The U.S. Consulate in Ciudad Juarez confirmed that Eder Diaz, and Manuel Acosta were shot to death at around 8 p.m. Tuesday by gunmen who opened fire on their car.
Television news station KWTX is reporting that Diaz was a U.S. citizen and Acosta was from the Mexican city of Chihuahua.
