Readers are advised that the Google Street View function — a service of Google Maps — has had issues displaying the street views this past week. The Cardinal first noticed an issue Tuesday, October 5, 2010. The Street View, when embedded in an article, is displayed as an unfocused image that is not completely rendered. The 360° function of Google Maps Street View are also not functioning. If a user or reader clicks on the link directly below the embedded view to view the image in Google Maps, the street view is displayed fully rendered with 360° functioning normally.
Google has received reports of problems with Street View since July (see Google Maps forum Street View is broken!)
Google last had a more serious issue with the correct location not showing in the embeds last January, 2010 (see Google Maps forum google street view changed embed code?).
