Arlington Heights police responded about 2:50 a.m. Sunday to report of a burglary-in-progress in the 2100 block of South Tonne Drive. Police received report that a male/black broke into an apartment on the second floor and fled. He apparently did not take anything.
The offender was described a male/black, 6’4″ with a large build, wearing a Chicago Bears hat, an orange shirt, black pants and Chicago Bears slippers.
While police were responding to the burglary call, the joined the paramedics on another call for a male unconscious lying in the grass in the 2200 block of South Goebbert on the Tonne side. The man was reported to be in his 20’s. He was not the offender. Unknown if he was involved as a victim or if the case was coincidental.
At least one victim from the apartment burglary attempt ran from his apartment, so the scene was a little chaotic.
The offender was not found.
