Cary police alerted area police departments at about 4:40 a.m. Saturday of a personal injury hit-and-run car vs. pedestrian crash at Route 14 and Cary-Algonquin Road in Cary. The incident occurred about 4:20 a.m. Saturday. The offending vehicle is described as a blue Jeep Wrangler. Wanted is a male/white driver described as 20-years-old wearing a gray sweatshirt. The blue Jeep Wrangler was last seen fleeing northbound on Cary-Algonquin Road.
Cary firefighter/paramedics worked to stabilize the victim at the scene and then transported him to the Cary fire station at 400 Cary-Algonquin Road where he was transferred to a Flight for Life. The medical helicopter transported him to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville, where he remains hospitalized.
