Arlington Heights police received a report about 3:45 p.m. Monday that a female displayed a handgun in a holster at the Pet Supplies parking lot, 71 West Golf Road. The offender was described as a female/white with short black hair, heavy set, wearing an orange shirt, blue jeans, a blue jacket, gym shoes and sunglasses. The offender was driving a blue Toyota with a Loyola hospital sticker on the back of the vechicle. The offender left the parking lot and headed southbound on Arlington Heights. The female was possibly accompanies by a male.
Arlington Heights police caught up with the vehicle near Arlington Heights Road and Algonquin and stopped the vehicle on Arlington Heights Road just south of Interstate 90. Minutes prior to the Arlington Heights incident, Illinois State Police were responding to a report that occupants in a vehicle matching the description flashed a gun at the Des Plaines Oasis on Interstate 90.
Illinois State Police responded to the Arlington Heights traffic stop and took over the investigation. Arlington Heights continued to assist Illinois State Police. No word on arrest or whether the gun was discovered by police.
