Arlington Heights police received a report about 10:40 p.m. Sunday that an 18-year-old male with long hair and no shirt was standing in the resident’s living room in the 400 block of West Campbell Street. The elderly woman looked in the living room after she heard a lamp fall. She then retreated to her bedroom and called 9-1-1. Arlington Heights police were on the scene within three minutes. An officer parked near the house saw a man fitting the description walk out of the house about four minutes after the resident called police.
Police set up a perimeter around the house and followed the man, who was described as a male/white, 18-to-19-years-old, with long hair and no shirt. Police stopped the man on Wing Street as he was walking westbound in the 400 block just before 10:50 p.m. He was arrested after police drove the victim to the Wing Street scene and confirmed a positive identification of the suspect.
The male/white suspect was transported in custody to Arlington Heights police headquarters. No items were reported stolen and the man, who was actually in his 30’s and intoxicated, was charged with trespassing.
