James J. Miller, 52, his wife Cindy Miller, 50, and son Trevor Miller, 17, of 800 block of Dunhill Drive in Buffalo Grove, were arrested at their home Wednesday night, charged with the unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants. In addition, Trevor Miller was charged with identity theft, burglary, unlawful use of a debit card and computer fraud.

After a Lincolnshire man reported his wallet stolen in a vehicle burglary last week, he also became victim of identity theft with $1,000 reported withdrawn illegally from his checking account via Internet purchases. The fraudulent purchased were traced to the Miller’s home, which resulted in a search warrant for the home on Dunhill, obtained by Buffalo Grove police, the Lincolnshire police, the U.S. Postal Service and the Lake County State’s Attorney’s Office.

During the search police found six marijuana plants growing outside in the yard and inside in the living room, and personal identification documents from several other victims of identity theft. Police learned that at least 10 were victims of identity theft — allegedly of Trevor Miller’s criminal actions.

James Miller and Cindy Miller have been released in lieu of a $50,000 personal recognizance bond. Trevor Miller was still being held in Lake County Jail Friday afternoon in lieu of a $25,000 bond — $2,500 (10%) required for release.
