Jose Luis-Martinez, 25, of the 400 block of McHenry Road in Wheeling, was shot multiple times about 11:30 p.m. while sitting on the front steps of an apartment complex in the 800 block of North Wolf Road, near Wolf Road and Dundee Road. He was transported to Glenbrook Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 12:07 a.m. Saturday.
The second male shooting victim, also 25-years-old, was transported by paramedics to Level I Trauma Center Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge where his condition was reported as stable.
Police alerted area police departments to be on the lookout for a group of five or six male/Hispanics in a gray Toyota Corolla reported to be wearing black hoodies and carrying handguns
No suspects in custody early this morning. Wheeling Police Department and the North Regional Major Crimes Task Force are investigating.
