Two Killed, Three Hurt in crash of car into tree in Wilmette about 2:30 a.m. Sunday.

UPDATE: Szymon Zawadzki, 20, of the 5100 block of West Addison Street in Chicago, has been charged with reckless homicide, aggravated DUI resulting in death, aggravated DUI resulting in great bodily harm, improper lane use, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving without insurance.
Veronica Rojas, 18, and Natalie Stygar, 17, were killed about 2:30 am. Monday in the 700 block of Sheridan Road when the car they were riding in crashed into a tree. The car impacted the tree on the driver’s side. In all, five people were riding in the car. The other three people were transported to area hospitals. Sheridan was closed between Central and Michigan Avenue after the crash and during the investigation. Sunday was Veronica’s 18th birthday and leaves behind a 2-year-old son.
Rojas and Stygar were pronounced dead at St. Francis Hospital about 3:30 a.m. Monday.
The vehicle was traveling southbound on Sheridan Road before the crash.
North Regional Major Crimes Task Force Major Crash Accident Team and the Cook County State’s Attorney’s office are investigating.
