Apple, Inc. released an upgraded version of the Mac Mini Tuesday morning.
The new Mac Mini has improved with a smaller height (1.4 inches), which makes it sleeker, adding an SD card slot, an HDMI port, increasing the hard disk size from 160GB to 320GB, and eliminating the external power adapter. The Mac Mini has a low power consumption of less than 10 Watts when idling. The base model still comes with 2GB 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM – 2x1GB.
The small size is a plus for hiding near a living room HDTV with HDMI inputs. The computer can work well viewing photos, downloaded videos from iTunes, or just browsing the Internet while sitting in the living.
The price of base Mac Mini increased from $599 to $699, which has a lot of people complaining, especially since netbooks on the Windows side go for about $300.
