Nine people shot overnight Saturday/Sunday in Chicago with one fatality.
A shooting about 9:10 p.m. Saturday in the 5800 block of South Russell Drive killed a 35-year-old man while he was standing outside a vehicle near Washington Park.
A shooting about 10:10 p.m. Saturday in the 8000 block of South Saginaw Avenue. A 22-year-old man was shot in his leg and transported to Stroger Hospital — good condition.
A shooting about 11:20 p.m. Saturday with multiple rounds in the 8500 block of South Hoyne Avenue hit three men. Three men were playing cards outside when multiple shots were fired. A 24-year-old man was shot in his left leg. A 25-year-old was shot in his right arm, and a 21-year-old was shot in his right leg and hand. All three men were treated at Holy Cross Hospital — all in good condition.
A shooting shortly after midnight Sunday in the 8400 block of South Hamilton Avenue. A 27-year-old man was shot in an apparent drive-by shooting He was standing outside when a person in a white vehicle opened fire in his direction, and bullets struck the victims left leg.
A shooting about 12:50 a.m. Sunday in the 5700 block of South Lake Shore Drive. An 18-year-old man was shot in the leg near a South Side beach, and was transported to University of Chicago Hospitals — good condition.
A shooting about 1:35 a.m. Sunday in the 10700 block of South Wabash Avenue. A 27-year-old man standing in the street was shot in the right hand by a drive-by shooter, and was transported to Roseland Community Hospital.
A shooting early Sunday in Bronzeville neighborhood. A 25-year-old man was shot in the neck and critically injured.
A shooting about 2:45 a.m. Sunday in the 4100 block of South Indiana Avenue. A man shot in the neck and transported to Stroger Hospital — critical condition.
No arrests in any of the shootings. Chicago police are investigating.
