Elgin police responded to the 300 block of N. Jackson Street at about 12:15 a.m. Saturday morning after reports of a person lying in the street. Police arrived on the scene to discover a male/teen with a stab wound to the chest. He was transported to Provena St. Joseph’s Hospital, where he later died.
Witnesses report the victim, whose identity has not been released, had been fighting with two men, who both fled after the stabbing.
The first suspect is described as a male/white about 18 years-old, 5′ 6″ , 140 lbs, with a thin build and light-brown short hair. He was wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans.
The second suspect is described as a male/Hispanic, about 20 years-old, 5′ 7″, 170 lbs, with a heavy build and short hair. He was wearing a blue sweatshirt and jeans.
