Police in suburban Washington say they are investigating the death of a D.C. school principal as a homicide. Police say a co-worker found 42-year-old Brian Betts dead in his home last week after he failed to report to work.
Brian Betts, principal of Shaw Middle School at Garnet-Patterson did not report for work Thursday and his clothed body was found inside a bedroom in his Silver Springs, Maryland home
A dark blue Nissan Xterra SUV that was owned by Principal Brian Betts was discovered Saturday, parked next to a church van behind a children’s ministry in Southeast Washington. The SUV is thought to have been abandoned in the 3900 block of Fourth Street SE between noon and 1:30 p.m. Friday.
