Spring has taken a break in northern New York and northern New England where there has been a rare late-season snowstorm. It dumped up to 2 feet of heavy, wet snow.
Schools closed in northern Vermont and New Hampshire and about 15,000 customers are without electricity, according to a utility company in Vermont.
The National Weather Service estimates parts of New York’s Adirondack Mountains and northern Vermont received more than 13 inches of snow since Tuesday morning and more coming.
