Jason Jakob pleaded guilty Monday to aggravated assault, reckless discharge of a firearm and possession of a firearm without a valid Firearm Owners Identification card. Charges from repeated arrests for violating conditions of bond were dropped.
After Judge Thomas Fecarotta handed down Jakob’s sentence of three years in prison, he denied Jason Jakob’s request to be released for “five or seven days” to get his affairs in order.
Arlington Heights police will keep or destroy the 27 high-powered rifles, 19 handguns, and thousands of rounds of ammunition that were recovered in April 2009.
Hopefully the neighbors of this man will finally feel safe!
