Video: Aftermath of rollover crash involving a Chevy Trailblazer and a Chevy Suburban.
Arlington Heights police and firefighter/paramedics responded about 10:40 a.m. Saturday to a crash of a Chevy Trailblazer and a Chevy Suburban at Northwest Highway and Walnut Avenue. No injuries were reported from the accident. A woman was checked by paramedics at the scene.
A Chevy Trailblazer rolled over in the crash. It appeared that the Trailblazer was T-boned on the passenger side by the larger Chevy SUV. The Chevy Trailblazer then rolled over into the IDOT traffic signal control box for the intersection. The traffic box was recently hit during another accident at the intersection on February 18, 2010.
Arlington Heights police are investigating. The north-south thoroughfare of Walnut/Ridge Avenue just north of the railroad tracks was blocked for a short time. Police and Hillside Towing workers moved quickly to clear the intersection.
There have been 3 pretty serious accidents On Euclid Near the Corner of NW highway in front of the post office 2 of them came up on the sidewalk and almost hit a house, and another almost hit an apartment building, but I haven’t seen videos of those accidents. I was kinda wondering why since you guys report stuff near that area all the time. That intersection in front of the PO has become pretty dangerous during rush hour as of late…
Joe — No bias against Route 14 and Euclid … Here’s one from Feb. 9, 2010 at Euclid and West Hawthorne. It’s not video, but it does include a photo:

The decision to get video or photos depends mainly on our current proximity and availability, which leaves a lot up to chance. It DOES seem a little surprising that there is no video from that busy intersection.
