Arlington Heights police called in the Major Case Assistance Team (MCAT) to an apartment complex on Dryden Place, just north of Kensington Road. Word spread among neighbors that a man’s body was found in the back of the apartment complex at 11 North Dryden Place. Police have a crime scene and have sealed off the entire parking lot at the Marketview Apartments, 11 North Dryden Place. A light truck has been set up for the investigation. Investigators are meticulously searching through dumpsters, garbage bags and the entire parking lot in the back of the Marketview Apartments.
Only the lower half of a human body — severed just above the pelvis — has been discovered. The body part — believed to be the partial remains of a white male — were discovered in a garbage bag. The bag was reported to police as suspicious after a strong odor was detected coming from the bag. After interviewing residents, police suspect the bag was dumped next to a dumpster at the rear parking lot after 7:00 a.m. Wednesday, April 14, 2010 . The body is believed to have been severed by a sharp instrument.
