Gas station security video shows youths attacking Vallejo, California city worker.
A city worker was beaten about 3:19 p.m. on February 1, 2010 after he asked teens why they pelted his back hoe tractor with rocks. A mob surround the worker and beat him and seriously injured him. A crowd of up to 40 people begin beating the man while he was on the ground. Injuries suffered included a fractured skull, broken jaw, broken collar bone, and broken and knocked out teeth.
The mob also robbed the man of his wallet.
The video also shows people cheering in front of a bystander who was operating another video camera.
Although there were many witnesses to the crime, not a single person has come forward. Police have been able to identify some of the offenders by viewing the video.
The Vallejo Police Department recently saw a budget cut that reduced the police force from 150 members to 100 members.
