Schaumburg Police Catch Car Thief, Recover Stolen Toyota Corolla in Minutes

Schaumburg police officer quickly apprehended a suspect in a car theft that occurred at Golf and National Parkway about 10:00 a.m. Monday. Police got a report that a blue Toyota Corolla was stolen by a male/Hispanic near the intersection of Golf Road and National Parkway. The car, which may have had the keys in the ignition, was last seen heading eastbound on Golf Road. Within minutes, Schaumburg police spotted the vehicle at Plum Grove Road and Golf. By 10:10 a.m. the suspect was stopped at Golf and Meacham, where Schaumburg police apprehended the suspect. The suspect was transported in custody to Schaumburg Police Department Headquarters about 10:15 a.m.
