UPDATE: Name of pilot is reported to be Joseph Andrew Stack. The pilot apparently took off from Georgetown Municipal Airport, Georgetown, Texas at 9:40 a.m. local time.

Two people injured with non-life-threatening burns. One injured person is reported as stabilized and airlifted to the burn unit at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio in serious condition with burn injuries. Another person — an injured man — was admitted to University Medical Center Brackenridge in good condition with minor injuries and smoke inhalation. One person missing.
The IRS has confirmed that their office in the stricken building — the Echelon One Building — employs 190 IRS employees.
Heavy fire reported in an office building at 9420 Research Boulevard in Austin, Texas after a small plane crashed at high speed into the office building at 9:46 a.m. local time in Texas. The office complex houses local FBI, CIA, and IRS offices. Firefighters were in fighting the fire in defensive mode because of the intensity of the fire. The IRS may be housed in the 9420 building.

NORAD launched two F-16’s in response to the crash.
Witnesses reported the plane made a sharp banking turn before it hit the building. Another witness who drives on Texas State Highway Route 183 that passes the Echelon building, reported that he had never seen low flying planes near the building.
A house fire is also reported in the 1800 block of Dapplegrey Lane in Austin, Texas that is reported to be the pilot’s house. The house was fully involved with fire when firefighters arrived on the scene. The man’s daughter later told police that her dad started the house on fire at about 9:00 a.m.
