Diane Davijon, 67, of the 100 block of North Lincoln Lane was pronounced dead at 12:10 p.m. Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at Loyola University Hospital, three months after suffering burn injuries from a fire in her condominium on November 13, 2009. Diane Davijon had suffered first- and second-degree burns on over 30 percent of her body and was being treated at Loyola University Hospital in Maywood.
She was the only person rescued from the condominium, but three cats were also rescued. Investigators, early on, suspected the fire was caused by a cigarette. No word on a final ruling on the cause of the fire at this time.
