Toyota suspended U.S. sales of some of its most popular vehicles to fix sticking gas pedals that could make the vechicles accelerate without warning. The suspension includes the best-selling car in America, the Toyota Camry.
Toyota said it would stop selling eight models of cars and trucks — a suspension that comes after a recall of the same models involving 2.3 million vehicles last week.
The Japanese automaker said the sales suspension includes the following models:
2009-2010 RAV4
2009-2010 Corolla
2007-2010 Camry
2009-2010 Matrix
2005-2010 Avalon
2010 Highlander
2007-2010 Tundra
2008-2010 Sequoia
No Lexus Division or Scion vehicles are affected by these actions. Also not affected are Toyota Prius, Tacoma, Sienna, Venza, Solara, Yaris, 4Runner, FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser and select Camry models, including all Camry hybrids, which will remain for sale.
