An earthquake of magnitude 6.5 has been reported 22 miles northwest of Ferndale California — south of Eureka and north of San Francisco. The earthquake occurred 6:27:39 CST.
St. Joseph’s ER in Eureka, California reports “10-15 patients with moderate injuries, mostly head injuries and cuts.
Unconfirmed reports of injuries. Reports of gas line ruptures, downed power lines, and ruptured water mains.
Fire crews and public works crews are investigating and barricading hazardous areas.
Ferndale is about 265 miles north of San Francisco, California. Damage to city hall and utility poles reported down.
