With the election for Massachusetts Class I seat in the United States Senate still four days away Attorney General Martha Coakley’s own poll is said to be around five points behind Republican Scott Brown.
Even though President Barack Obama is planning to come to Massachusetss to help Coakley’s chances in the election, Democrats are working to insulate Obama from any suggestion that a Coakley defeat would be a judgment on the president’s agenda and performance in office. Republicans are quick to project that the local election represents a national sentiment against Democrats and Obama.
